Ro Becker, the middle school librarian and I were looking for a way to engage our very supportive PTA in an evening workshop without boring them to death. (However magical I believe libraries are these days, at 7:30 PM, not even the most supportive community member is likely to be entranced by the magic.)
Ro and I used her template to design a library Jeopardy game for the parents–http://mciu.org/~spjvweb/jeopardy.ppt
We divided the parents into two groups and the competition, while not fierce, was certainly lively for a rainy Monday night. The game allowed us to casually discuss, rather than lecture about the amazing resources our community members support and to discuss our inquiry-based philosophy. It was an opportunity to share and to thank our community.
We stayed far longer than we would have imagined answering cool questions about libraries and research and learners.

May I borrow the template of your game ppt and edit it for my school setting?

I will be doing a quick run down with PTA and want it to be light but up-beat
I think I might add a numbers row, ie cost of a book, time to do tasks, number of studentor classes in library…

Sure, Betty. Feel free to edit. It worked really well here and served as a fun way to introduce resources and services.
